What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a powerful, safe and effective system of medicine that uses natural substances to trigger the body's own healing mechanisms.

Founded 200 years ago, homeopathy is now the second most used system of healthcare worldwide. It is used on every continent, and is especially prominent in the UK, France, India and South America.

Homeopathic remedies are non-toxic and can be used safely and effectively from birth right through to old age, including during pregnancy.

Homeopathy works on the principle of 'like cures like'. This means that a substances can treat the same symptoms it creates, when given in the right dose. For example: onions (from the Allium plant family) cause streaming eyes and nose when cut; the remedy made from onion - Allium cepa - treats these same symtoms, for example in a hayfever sufferer.

In homeopathy we treat the person rather than the disease, and recognise all of an individual's symptoms as being connected, from the physical through to the mental and emotional. We treat you, not your disease.
